"This place is fantastic and definitely exceeded my expectations! You get free pick up and drop off to the airport. The room and bathroom were super clean, the bed is comfy, the AC works great and you have good WiFi throughout the hotel. The grounds were very well kept as well as the pools, all clean and beautifully liked with palm trees. The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful. The view from the restaurant is very nice and you see the ocean in the background. The food was very good and all freshly made on the spot. Sure, the building is a bit old and the furniture in the rooms may be a bit outdated but the stay is wonderful and with great views, food and staff, which more than make up for it."

The Resort is very isolated, and expensive to go anywhere. You are actually quite captive. Off season is not the time to go here. There are very few options for activities outside the resort. Apart from an island tour which is well worth doing, you are really confined to barracks, book reading (no TVs) and waiting for sunset drinks. Yes, there is some good snorkelling, swimming and kayaking, but that's it. No TV's or DVD library, no games as such. So, it's an awfully long way to go, and very expensive for just this. Unless of course that's what you're looking for.

Restaurant waiters are useless, slow, just talking to each other. . Even if you are a guest at hotel they want you to pay for the huts. Hotel guests should get at least a free hour daily. There is no real beach seating for hotel guests to relax.

The food in the restaurant was very poor - surprisingly for a country like Kyrgyzstan where generally the food is excellent

"The villa had great privacy, beautiful landscaping, a good layout for our group. It was well-equipped with essentials for cooking/serving. The salt pool was perfect for cooling off after a hike. It was just big enough and always seemed to be at the right temperature. We were delighted by fireflies, tree frogs, bats, local birds, and even a shy ginger cat that wandered past once or twice."

THE ROAD- while we expected a rough access road from reading previous reviews, the construction during our stay detoured us through the banana plantation over an intolerably (for anyone with neck/back problems) rough track that was 4x longer. While the ocean (not a swimming beach) is close enough to hear, there is not much view. It is a peek from one corner of the pool deck, and the upper bedroom. But again, wonderful privacy. Also of note- there are no bug screens on the windows. It was perhaps an assumption on our part with the newer construction, but the mosquitoes did cause some distress, especially for one member of our group. Bring bug spray, After-Bite (anti-itch), and Benadryl if you are prone to reactions.

"From arriving up to leaving, it was perfect! The rooms are comfortable and clean. Stuff is always doing the best service, from the reception over the cleaning staff to the restaurant! Even there was a animation for kids at the pool what our son really enjoyed. The Chef cooking delicious meals and sharing some special tip to make your food better! The waiters have done always a great job , Jonathan was always having some jokes to made us laugh. Cleaning staff always was respecting your privacy and when told them come back at time they was at the point! At the point a perfect stay what I can just recommend."

They brought meals in from outside restaurants. Instead of 2 tiny water bottles per day they provided a 20 litre water dispenser. The pool overlooked the black pebbly beach. The surrounding area was not overwhelmed by tourists and the locals were 1980's friendly."

A little tired in places - could do with a bit of a spruce up such as a lick of paint on all the walls, new carpets in the common areas (stairs) etc. Seemed to be a lot of staff but not a lot of guests (although the staff were lovely).

"The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. The accommodation is beautifully designed,easily the best I’ve seen in Penang. The staff were incredibly friendly and always made sure we were well taken care of."

If I were to nitpick, the dinner menu could be a bit more interesting. Other than that, everything was great.

We would have preferred for our rooms to be closer together however we appreciate that the hotel was able to accommodate our additional request to have the rooms on the first floor in order to accommodate my elderly mom.

Only couple of persons spoke english. Several restaurants in hotel, but you could only book online with one. When you come to hotel everything is in spanish, luckily I had colleague who could speak spanish so he was able to translate how to book breakfast, lunches and dinners etc.

Breakfast selection was mediocre. Some small spa or sauna area would create extra value.

We were even given a very late check out of 4pm as our flight was a night time one. The location is beautiful: white sandy beaches and clear blue sea. The resort is not in walking distance to San Ignacio. You need a car (and worse a parking spot) to go there. This makes you dependent on the hotel‘s facilities and restaurant. Be aware that the breakfast included only means a small selection of breakfast choices. Whenever you want something extra eg eggs you pay extra! You pay a 10% „service charge“ on everything, even on the organization of tours, which is quite a ripoff. I did some activities organized by the hotel. These tours (especially the mayan cooking class) are real good, however as a single I had to pay for two people (minus a small discount). Moreover, tax & „service charge“ were added to the net prices mentioned in the flyer. Taken together this makes these tours unacceptably expensive.
