The swimming pool was closed the whole of our stay for maintenance but no maintenance was being done. Very disappointing.

"The Gateway is peacefully located, set in wonderful grounds overlooking Madurai. It has fantastic gardens, excellent facilities and spacious comfortable rooms. The restaurant food was excellent, as was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful."

The bar was closed during our stay and service in the restaurant was a bit slow but not a great problem.
