"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . "The accommodation was clean and fresh, Location was quiet with plenty of local restaurants, and a few local shops to get basic groceries. We hired a car during our stay which is recommended if you want to further a field as we did ."

"On arrival 'Grandad' greeted us with a smile and a cup of 'ginger tea' 😊 The location is peaceful and on the edge of the forest. Only 15mins walking to seven eleven, shops, etc. The room was comfy and clean. Good value too. Bed was super comfy soft to firm! Easy to safely store our bicycles 🚴🚴 A great place to visit and Grandad may also show you around his collection of antiques. HIGHLY recommended 👌"

"Very cozy place owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming family. Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Whenever I needed anything, they were quick to help and always took care of everything with a smile. Their hospitality truly made my stay feel special and comfortable. Thank you once again for such a warm and memorable experience!"

The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

"Location near the sea and grocery store. Found also a home bakery nearby. Beautiful, a bit rustic town under pine trees. Sandy beach and lot of quiet streets to discover. Appartment was warm, nice, and had all the basic things. Lovely yard."

There was no bed sheet for the second bed (sofa), and when we opened the sofa, there was sand from the previous visitors. The hosts reacted to our request and it was cleaned. Some other tiny issues - only 2 mugs in the cupboard (4 glasses), and the 3rd cup was found on the floor of shower room. We missed washing up liquid and kitchen towels too.

"The property is as super clean, modern and beautifully designed. All fittings are of good quality and very comfortable beds. The flat is of good size, with large bedrooms and good sized well equipped kitchen. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. Check in was smooth and easy and there is plenty of room of store all of your belongings. We will most definitely be staying here again."
